Derek has more than 25 years of product marketing and product management experience with a focus on high-performance enterprise and service provider networking systems. At Aruba, an HPE company, he leads the product and technical marketing teams responsible for SD-WAN and SASE positioning for the SD-WAN portfolio including the Aruba EdgeConnect SD-WAN edge platform, acquired with Silver Peak.

Before joining Silver Peak as VP, Product and Technical Marketing, Derek held a number of senior product management and marketing positions at networking companies including Extreme Networks, ConSentry Networks, Woven Systems, Brocade, and Cisco Systems via the Stratacom acquisition. Derek holds a BSEE from Stanford University and an MBA from Santa Clara University.
